What is in Season?

Autumn brings a new round of planting to get you through winter. In our Edible Forest, we are proactive in planting both perennial plants; that will supply us with long lasting produce for years to come; and anneals for short term product supply. As the weather is still quite warm, perhaps try getting some winter crop seeds sown into punnets.

Our suggested planting

  1. Legumes (beans, peas, snow peas etc).
  2. Brassicas (cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower etc).
  3. Alliums (onions, leeks, spring onions, radish, fennel, garlic etc).
  4. Cucurbits (cucumber, pumpkin, etc).
  5. Umbellifer (carrots, parsley coriander, parsnip, celery, dill etc.).
  6. Solanums (tomatoes, potatoes, etc).
  7. Herbs (parsley, basil, coriander (try a slow bolting variety if it’s still warm), rosemary, marjoram and thyme.
  8. Citrus – lemons
